Zoe Hornauer
Senior Golf
It didn’t take long for Zoe Hornauer to make an impact at Trenton High School when she became a Trojan just a few years ago. Making both the varsity soccer and golf teams as a freshman, she has continued to stand out both on the field and in the classroom as she makes her way through her final year at Trenton. A National Honor Society member with a 3.7 grade-point average, Hornauer has been exemplary in the classroom even with her extensive academic commitments. On the course, Hornauer has been the leader of a Trojans team that has won the Downriver League Championship in each of her years with the school. Along with team success, Hornauer has also been a two-time MVP of the golf team, was a state qualifier last year and has been All-League each of the past three seasons. On the pitch, Hornauer has been just as impressive. The team has won the Downriver League each of the past three seasons and she has been named to the All-League, All-District and All-Region teams the last two years and was also an All-State honorable mention. As she eyes the next step in her academic career, Hornauer is planning on committing herself entirely to her education rather than continuing athletics. She intends to attend Henry Ford College initially, with a plan of eventually transferring to Wayne State University. As a student, she plans on following the educational path that will lead to her becoming either a physician’s assistant or physical therapist; a path she has chosen in large part due to her experiences as an athlete. Her parents, Jeff and Dawn, are looking forward to cheering her on through the last leg of her athletic career. — Brian Rzeppa
