New school year gets off to a ‘super’ start at pep rally

BY BROOKS BLACKLEDGE

The 2019-20 school year at AMS started off with a bang, with an awesome superhero theme as part of our PBIS program.

On the first day of school, there was a pep rally to introduce the staff. The entire AMS staff wore matching shirts with a superhero font. Each knight pride class was also assigned a superhero. For example, my knight pride is Spider-man.

PBIS stands for “Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports.” It is used throughout all Trenton Public schools to allow students to have fun while learning about and following the school rules.            PBIS is also a positive behavior program that promotes being respectful, responsible and safe.

Arthurs also has some familiar faces in new positions this year. Mrs. Rhoades was promoted from assistant principal to principal and Mrs. Johnson, one of our science teachers, was promoted to assistant principal. It is going to be a super year at Arthurs!

Correspondent Brooks Blackledge is a seventh-grade student at Boyd Arthurs Middle School.
