Giovanni Potestato
Senior Soccer
As one of the senior leaders of a Trenton High School varsity soccer team that has bounced back in a big way from a down season last year, Giovanni Potestato has managed to set an example for his teammates both on the field and in the classroom. As a soccer player, Potestato was named to the All-Downriver League team last year as a junior and has continued that strong play into this season. Beyond his time with the Trojans, Potestato also played for Michigan’s team as part of the Olympic Development program. In the classroom, Potestato’s 3.3 grade-point average stands as an example of the hard work that he has put in over his four years as a student at Trenton High School. As Potestato looks toward the future, he has a number of different appealing options to choose from. He intends to continue playing soccer at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics level, but has not yet landed on a destination. His major in college is still yet to be determined but his parents Frederick Potestato and Carie Louderback, are confident that Giovanni will excel in whichever path he chooses to follow. — Brian Rzeppa
