The vice president of the National Honor Society, a section captain for the Marching Band, a member of two varsity sports teams and the 2019 prom queen, Trenton High School senior Alexis Kettler has truly done it all through her four years at Trenton. Possessing a 3.86 grade-point average, Alexis is also a member of the Spanish Honor Society, Math Club, Mock Trial team and Interact Club. As a four-year member of the swim team, Kettler finished top 10 in the league in the 200-freestyle and as a rower she has earned more than 15 medals. Jeff Taylor, the coach of the rowing team at Trenton, said that Kettler’s attitude is what sets her apart, “Alexis is really unique because she’s one person that’s always positive and that’s huge. She is definitely a team leader and she does not balk at anything you want her to do. She is a powerhouse, put simply.” Kettler will be bringing her academic and athletic talents to Eastern Michigan University in the fall, following in the footsteps of her mother, Corrie, who also attended EMU. In addition to being a scholarship athlete on the rowing team, Kettler plans to major in biochemistry. — Brian Rzeppa
